Are you dog friendly?
Yes, your four-legged friends are very welcome to visit the Royal Oak, however we do have a few house rules.
Firstly, dogs are welcome in all areas excluding the hotel’s main restaurant. You are welcome to dine with your well behaved dog in our bar, lounge areas or outside in our courtyard.
In regards to staying with us, we do have a set few rooms in which we allow dogs to stay in, please phone us direct to book a dog friendly room on 01938 552217.
There is a small charge of £10 per dog, per stay.
As the building is nearly 300 years old we are unable to fit a lift into the hotel. Our restaurant and bar facilities are all on the ground floor.
We do not have any ground floor bedrooms however guests can request a lower floor if required.
What time is check in and check out?
Check in time is from 3pm on the day of your arrival. We cannot guarantee an early check in, however, if your room is ready before 3pm you are welcome to check in early at no charge.
Check out is by 11am on the day of departure.
The Royal Oak is located at the heart of Welshpool with the local shops, tourist information and the train station all right on the doorstep. Powis Castle is just a stone’s throw away either by car or by walking a mile across the parklands. Welshpool is a perfect location for walking, either to explore the local area or as a good stop-off point for those taking on the Offa’s Dyke trail.
